Toyota Celebrated 30th Year with Announcement to Support VEX Teams

On Wednesday, June 8th, Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc. (TMMK) celebrated its “milestone” 30th Anniversary with $100,000 in donations to Kentucky organizations. I was invited to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony and stood with a large crowd as we watched Wil James, President of Toyota’s Georgetown site, announce that $30,000 was earmarked for the Scott County Robotics Booster Club to support VEX programs for “students at every level in Scott County.”  As he gave us this great news, the doors to the Visitors Center opened and out came a robot with a group of students representing VEX teams across Scott County. The robot proudly accepted and displayed the check that was presented to the Booster Club.
