Names Mike Berge Managing Director
NICHOLASVILLE, KY (July 7, 2021), Aviation Safety Resources, Inc., (ASR) an innovative company that designs, tests and produces Aircraft Emergency Parachute Recovery Systems (AEPRS) for the aerospace, defense, and Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) markets today announced the appointment of Mike Berge as Managing Director to lead the innovation, manufacturing, and defense operations for ASR.
For over 20 years Mike has worked on the development, testing, and manufacturing of aviation life support equipment specializing in parachutes, harnesses, and ancillary items for aerospace, defense, and commercial markets.
“Mike brings tremendous practical and technological expertise to ASR,” commented Larry Williams, ASR President and CEO. He continued, “The depth of his experience combined with his innovation leadership will be important contributions as we continue to build a stronger, better ASR. We are excited to welcome Mike to the ASR team.”
During his time in the Army Mike served as a parachute rigger, jumpmaster, and combat lifesaver deploying to Afghanistan in 2002 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Mike served as a test parachutist, product developer, manufacturing manager, quality technician, and aviation life support specialist for Irvin Aerospace/Airborne Systems, FXC/Guardian Parachute, and Gentex Corporation. During this time, he led life support and military tactical projects for Natick Soldier Systems Center, Marine Corps Systems Command, US Army Special Operations Command, USAF Hurricane Hunters, and NASA, where he was recognized by the administration in 2007 for his achievements while completing multiple test series for parachutes on the Orion Spacecraft Program.
