KAM Statement: Kentucky Must Address Unprecedented Workforce Crisis

FRANFORT, Ky. (May 14, 2021) – Lee Lingo, the Executive Director of the Kentucky Association of Manufacturers, put out the following statement in regards to Kentucky’s workforce crisis:

“Kentucky is facing an unprecedented worker shortage as the economy rebounds from the devastating effects of COVID-19. As other states like Arizona roll out back-to-work incentive programs, Kentucky should examine a similar policy. Our federal resources should be allocated to encourage people to fill the thousands of open jobs—many of them high-wage manufacturing, processing, logistics and skilled trade positions—across the Commonwealth. The Kentucky Association of Manufacturers urges the Kentucky General Assembly and Governor Beshear to take immediate action to help Kentuckians get back to work.”
