Statement Regarding Last Night’s Devastation in West Kentucky

Frankfort, Ky – Frank Jemley, Executive Director of the Kentucky Association of Manufacturers (KAM) has provided the following statement on last night’s severe storms, urging members to help however they can.

“Like all Kentuckians, we awoke this morning to the images of destruction and devastation caused by severe weather overnight in West Kentucky and particularly in the beautiful community of Mayfield, where the devastation includes the Mayfield Consumer Products factory. Our hopes and prayers go out to our fellow and sister Kentuckians in Mayfield and across the region, and those who work at Mayfield Consumer Products and their families.

“The Kentucky Association of Manufacturers is making an initial contribution today to the Kentucky Region of the American Red Cross to aid in disaster relief for Mayfield and the entire region, and we ask our member companies and other like-minded businesses to consider doing so also.

“Kentucky’s manufacturing industry – our companies, employees, and families – stand with our brothers and sisters affected by this terrible tragedy.”
